NEWS UPDATE - NOVEMBER 26
GIFTS THAT MAKE AN IMPACT
By giving someone a gift from our virtual Gift Shop, you really are changing the future of someone in Rwanda or Uganda.
Josephine, an elderly lady in Cyangugu, Rwanda is very grateful for those who have gifted roofing sheets, maybe not the most inspiring idea at first thought, but for Josephine it now means her house stays dry during the rainy season, that she can sit in one comfortable place, that her bible no longer gets wet, and she can actually place her bed anywhere in her room and it stays dry - the roofing sheets were truly a gift from God and have made a 90+ year old’s life much more comfortable.

A message from Josephine’s pastor “I extend the heart felt gratitude from Josephine to whom you sent support for changing the roof of her house before the rainy season came. The house was roofed and she is now happier than she was when you visited her. Extend her love, greetings and gratitude to who ever God used to respond to Josephine's need.”

Life for older generations in rural Rwanda can often feel lonely. As physical strength fades and steep hills make it hard to travel to church, many seniors face isolation far from family members who have moved to the cities.
The dedicated diocesan team in Kigeme have established afternoon communion services specially aimed at this forgotten community. After the service, participants enjoy fellowship with refreshments and receive a "goody bag" filled with essential food and hygiene items.
Your Gift Shop purchase can be part of the solution! Because these services are growing so rapidly, the diocese is currently looking for compassionate partners to help fund and sustain this vital outreach. Your support can bring dignity, joy, and the love of Christ to an older person in need.
Serving Seniors brings food, hygiene and fellowship to someone who might otherwise be forgotten.

Because Bibles are such a precious treasure - costing the equivalent of two weeks' wages for the average worker—they are deeply cherished. Thanks to supporters like you, CHI was able to send funds to provide 200 Bibles for the diocese of Karongi in Rwanda. These wonderful gifts were shared with everyone from students to the elderly, who received them with overflowing joy and immense gratitude.

Gemima who is a student at Rwanda Polytechnic said “this gifts given to our student community will help to start small Bible study groups among our students. …For many of us with our little pocket money it is hard to buy our own Bible. Convey our heartfelt appreciations to CHI and send them our greetings.”
