The Joy of Giving … differently
The act of giving a gift fills us with a special kind of joy — a quiet, immeasurable pleasure that often surpasses the happiness of receiving. Perhaps that’s because so many of the gifts we give, especially at Christmas, are not really about need, but about love. We choose colours, scents, and flavours with care, hoping they’ll bring a smile — even though most of our loved ones already have more than enough.

And yet, in a world longing for simplicity and meaning, the excess of wrapping and endless shopping can leave us wondering: Is there a way to give that feels truer to the heart of Christmas?

This year, why not give a gift that gives twice — a virtual gift that blesses both your loved one and a family in need?

Imagine gifting your gardening friend a packet of seeds — not for their own garden (which may well be overflowing), but on their behalf, for a family in Rwanda or Uganda. Those seeds could grow into a harvest that feeds children, supports a livelihood, and brings hope for the future.
You could provide a goat to nourish a family with fertiliser for their crops, medicines to heal the sick, or school supplies for a child longing to learn. Each gift, given in someone’s name, becomes a living expression of love — a reflection of God’s generosity to us all.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Acts 20:35
So this Christmas, let your giving shine with God’s light.
Skip the queues and sticky tape, and wrap your love not in paper, but in purpose. A virtual gift brings joy twice over — once to your friend or family member, and once to a family whose lives will be changed through your kindness.
