We wish you God’s blessings for a bright, healthy, and peaceful new year.
We hope you have all enjoyed a restful Christmas break. Here at CHI, we definitely needed the Christmas break after a very busy end of year. We are now settled into our new office, we have met our neighbouring business owners and are feeling very ‘at home’. Things will be new, they will be different, but our focus will not change, spreading His word through practical aid in Rwanda and Uganda will still be at the forefront of everything we do here in the office.

Even though we were relocating our office, the work did not stop in Africa. CHI was able to send out money for Christmas parties for all the sponsored children, which always includes the treat of a meal, bottle of fizzy pop and a lot of cake - extravagant items they would rarely receive at any other time of the year.

In Rakai in Uganda CHI are delighted that the new Pastor there is able to support a new sponsorship scheme. CHI have prayed for this impoverished community for many years and although eucalyptus have been planted to help support them, we have never been able to really support the children and their education. We pray 2025 will be a good year for Rakai, children are already being sponsored, details of those awaiting sponsorship will be on our 'sponsor a child' page very soon. Why not take a look and consider starting the New Year by offering the gift of education to one of these children?
Rakai school consists of three blocks and all are in a terrible state of repair, a leaky roof and mud floor (where jiggers lay in wait to lay their eggs between the toes of barefooted children) is demoralising for teachers and students alike. We pray you will help us fulfil the dream of renovating this school during 2025?

The water tanks have already been repaired and the children are taking responsibility for replenishing the eucalyptus plantation, as the profits from this will be used to support the school.

In Kaleere, another remote village in the same Archdeaconry, CHI were able to fund medicines, doctors and nurses for a one day health camp for the community there.
This is always an eagerly anticipated event and this year it was no different, with 130 patients being attended to, their ages ranging from 6 months to 95 years, with ailments ranging from backaches to pneumonia. Medication and health advice was given, along with prayers for future good health.

We are very grateful to the new Pastor - Amos Friday, for the way he has taken these parishes to his heart, whilst living in the church offices while his house is in the throes of being built. It should soon be finished!!
