Spreading the gospel and growing people in their faith is at the heart of everything we do at Christian Hope International. So when Archdeacon Patrick Ssimbwa in Uganda approached us about running a 5 day youth camp, we felt compelled to support this.
The KAKO Youth Camp which ran in August and was a great success, with 10 out of 80 children giving their lives to Jesus for the first time, Hallelujah!
The camp, which was titled: “Stir Up One Another On Toward Love And Good Works," aimed to encourage children and youth in their faith in the Lord Jesus, to equip them with skills to read and study the word of God, and provide them with opportunities to enjoy Christian fun and fellowship.
In addition to morning worship, the camp featured games, meals, quiet time for personal devotion and a variety of sessions covering such things as sexual purity, health and family planning, and learning skills in doing small businesses such as soap making.
The KAKO Youth Camp was a real time for celebration with 10 children giving their lives to Jesus. Here’s what a couple of them said:
“I decided to give my life to Christ as my personal saviour because Jesus died for my sins as a perfect sacrifice as our high priest. This shows me that Jesus is everywhere and this helped me to get freedom because my sins were forgiven by God”. Shadiah, 18.
“I accepted Jesus as my personal saviour for the first time to face life’s overwhelming challenges with a great helping hand”. Talent, 15.
These stories are a testament to the power of the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of these young people. We can rejoice in the knowledge that these children have begun a new journey with Christ, and we pray that they will continue to grow in their faith and walk with Him all the days of their lives.
A huge thank you to all our supporters who enable these events to take place.
"let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds"
