Updates (Thursday 29th July 2010)

Rwanda Container no. 1

The container destined for 4 areas of Rwanda (Shyira Hospital, Kigali Diocese, Shyogwe Diocese and Byumba Diocese) has arrived in Rwanda and cleared customs.

Thankfully the computer systems that were impounded have now been released. However we are unable for the present time to send any other computers to Rwanda until we secure a means of clearing customs. More news as soon as we have something to report.

Please pray that we can receive permission to send computers in the very near future..

Rwanda Container no. 2

The next container leaving our warehouse is also destined for Rwanda.

It is around 80% loaded with goods for 4 different areas of Rwanda.

More details of what is still required by clicking HERE.

St. John's Gospel
for our
Ray of Hope Children

All of our Ray of Hope Children in Africa and India have now received their copy of St. John's Gospel for Children.

These colourful publications are ideal for our young people and we hope and pray that they will be blessed with this gift. Many thanks to those Ray of Hope sponsors who helped with the funding and who sent cards for the children.

The cards have been returned from the CRIB orphanage in Bujumbura (Burundi) and the school and orphanage at Kijjabwemi (in Uganda). We also received the above photo from Gikonko in Rwanda.
We will send out all the cards as they arrive.

Kigali Container

The container for Kigali arrived some time ago and cleared customs back in June.

The computers that were impounded because of a change in the import restrictions on second hand computers have been released and handed over the Church.

The computers that were alrady loaded into the Rwanda II container have been removed and stored in our warehouse. Pray that we might be able to obtain permission to send computers in the very near future.

Kijjabwemi Container

The container for Kijjabwemi has now arrived at the School

We were concerned when it was impounded in Mombassa (and we were given a $500 "fine"), but thankful that the hold-up was only temporary. Now that it has arrived we have the "happiest children in Uganda" according to Pastor Eriab.

The photos to the right show the "Ray of Hope" sponsored children having a party at the school once the container was opened.

They are wearing the bright red T-Shirts donated by Leukaemia Research.

Many thanks to them and to the many others who contributed to the contents of the container and to the cost of shipping.

Laptops for Africa

Do you have an old laptop looking for a good home? We will scrub all personal information off your computer before sending overseas. If you think you can help, contact us on 01708 377795 or click HERE and fill in the contact form.
We sent several laptops in our last container to schools in Rwanda and would value a further 10 for the next one.
Thank you.
